Thinking outside the walls…

The Smithsonian is more than just a collection of buildings housing some of the world’s greatest historical treasures…it’s also an organization that celebrates international cultures. This map was created for a celebration of Argentina’s bicentennial. Events were held all across the District of Columbia, so we extended an existing three-dimensional map of the area to help patrons better plan their visit. Want to know if that event is walkable from where you are right now? It’s on the map. Curious about where the Washington Monument is in relation to a particular event? It’s on the map. Printed in Spanish and English, this piece was available to everyone who attended any of the festivities.
